M6 Series
The new 2010 M6 Series comes in both coupe and convertible styles, seats four, and is powered by a 500 horsepower 5.0-liter DOHC 40-valve V-10 engine with M high-pressure Double-VANOS "steplessly" variable valve timing. Editors at Edmunds found the "performance of the BMW M6 to be simply intoxicating," and said, "The sounds emanating from the V10 power plant are like nothing else available to consumers." 3-way catalytic converter with a heated oxygen sensor, and a 7-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) with drivelogic. Digital Motor Electronics ensures optimum engine performance under all conditions by using sensors to constantly check data from different engine functions from the engine speed to the position of the choke valve.Some of the important handling and suspension features for this BMW include Dynamic Stability Control with M Dynamic Mode, all season traction with an M variable differential lock, and Electronic Damping Control with Comfort, Normal, and Sport mode. Dynamic Stability Control is a system that prevents skids before they happen by monitoring the behaviour of the wheels and chassis and by supplying discreet amounts of braking pressure to individual wheels to prevent the vehicle from veering off course. The M6 also comes with independent suspension with M calibration and includes stiffened dampers, springs and anti-roll bars; and modified rear axle geometry. The brakes are 4-wheel BMW M vacuum-assisted ventilated, cross-drilled, anti-lock compound disc brakes.
The new M6 treats you to Merino leather upholstered, 3-stage heated, 14-way power-adjustable, M sport front seats that come with a 3-setting driver's seat memory system, adjustable headrests, 2-way manual thigh support, 4-way lumbar support, and adjustable seatback side bolsters. While you're taking it easy in the comfortable seating you can enjoy your favorite music to the max on the Logic7 Surround Sound audio system that comes with an an anti-theft AM/FM stereo, a CD player with MP3 capabilities, 13 upgraded speakers (including 2 subwoofers), Digital Sound Processing (DSP), Radio Data System (shows artist and station information), Auto-Store, and a 3-channel FM diversity antenna.
The instrumentation features on the new M6 include an M-multi-function steering wheel with M Drive function, SMG paddles, and cruise control. The multi-function steering wheel allows you to control a host of different features at the press of a button--and without having to reach across the dashboard. Other instrumentation features include an external temperature display, an on-board computer, a start/stop button, vehicle and key memory, and a built-in navigation system with an 8.8" screen and real time traffic information.

The air bags include front door mounted side-impact air bags and a driver's and passenger's front airbag supplemental restraint system with dual-threshold, dual-stage deployment; and front-passenger seat sensors designed to prevent unnecessary airbag deployment.
