The 128i and 128i SULEV share the same inline-six found in the larger BMW 328i that outputs 230 hp. While the 135i gets a turbocharged six-cylinder that makes 300 hp.All three trim levels of the 1-Series class of BMWs come with a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. The 128i and 128i SULEV cars have an option for a six-speed automatic, and the 135i can be ordered with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Common to all trim levels of the 1-Series convertible are an AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio with auxiliary input, light weight alloy wheels, no-cost leather seats, fold-down rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and 8-way adjustable front seats. And naturally, BMW offers many additional options.

The new 2011 BMW 128i is a sporty convertible sure to please any driving enthusiast. It has a 3.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC), 24-valve inline 230-hp 6-cylinder engine. The default transmission is a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic is an available option. 
The 2011 BMW 135i Convertible has a turbocharged 300-hp 6-cylinder engine with piezo fuel injection. It’s been calibrated for sensitive and sporty handling, too. Xenon Adaptive Headlights are kept unfettered by powerful headlight washers, illuminating the road no matter the conditions. And the 135i looks great the entire time, thanks to black chrome-plated exhaust tips, interior gray poplar wood trim, and the aerodynamic kit. The SULEV 2011 BMW 128i Convertible meets the emissions standards for new vehicles that are binding on some states. It produces only a fraction of the pollutants that other cars do.
