The 2011 X5 Series 35i has a 3.0L 300-horsepower engine, which is managed by an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission with STEPTRONIC manual shift mode. It also utilizes Brake Energy Regeneration, which converts kinetic energy into power which the 35i can use. The finishing touches of a power tilting-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, 10-way power-adjustable front seats with memory, and leatherette upholstery together make the 35i a truly fine vehicle. 
The X5 Series 35i Premium is, as its name suggests, an upgrade from the 35i. The 35i Premium has Nevada Leather upholstery, Dark Burl Walnut Wood trim, and matte black roof rails. Privacy glass in the rear windows, a power-adjustable panoramic moonroof, and a power-adjustable steering wheel column are small luxuries which make a huge difference. And, an included iPod and USB connector is a finishing touch which further improves the 35i Premium’s position as a forward-looking vehicle of the 21st century. 
The X5 Series 35i Sport Activity features an increased top-speed limiter, Y-spoke wheels with run-flat performance tires, smoky Anthracite interior headlining and dark Shadowline exterior trim. It also has a 3-spoke leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, and 10-way power-adjustable front seats with thigh support and memory. 
The 50i has a powerful 400-hp V8 engine which produces an authoritative 450 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle also features a hi-fi 10-speaker sound system with 2 subwoofers under the front seats.
